The Edwin Jagger DE Razor Collection combines the latest technology with traditional hand finishing techniques to produce elegant and contemporary Double Edge razors. Famous among the wet-shaving community, this razor boasts an excellent reputation for the expert level of shaving it achieves. The classic Edwin Jagger closed comb head is chrome-plated and hand-polished before delivery. The two-part die-cast razor head has been expertly engineered to deliver a shave that is gentle on the skin but still very close and smooth. This results in fewer cuts, less irritation, and a smoother shave overall. Slightly heavier than common disposable razors, you can use the extra weight to your advantage and allow the agile razor to glide across your face without having to apply any pressure. The handle is light and small, but the head is heavy, which keeps you from taking a chance and cutting yourself, while still giving you the control you need to achieve a close, professional shave.Īt 68g (2.4oz), this is a decently weighted razor, providing a reliable shave. The practical 83mm (3.3") handle is designed to be easy to use with great levels of manoeuvrability and agility. With an overall length of 93mm (3.7"), this is a standard-sized razor. The handle is finished with an attractive scratch-resistant lined chrome plating, with 'EDWIN JAGGER' and 'SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND' proudly engraved on the collar and cap respectively. We shall see.Machined from solid brass, triple-plated and hand-polished, the Edwin Jagger DE89 has an elegant and sophisticated metallic design. I may go electric for a day or two to let my face recover. I can feel "heat" in a few areas where I normally didn't feel anything before, but the razor is more aggressive by design so I can't fault it for that. Overall the shaves have been good, discounting nicks of course, but the razor is definitely a bit more aggressive than the DE89. Don't take the blade for granted." However, when I draw blood three days in a row there is something more going on here. So when I shave and draw blood my response is usually, "Hmm, that doesn't happen very often. I am a competent enough shaver that I generally don't nick myself or even get a weeper unless I am careless. I used a different blade a a red Israeli. I really do find the 30ne6 handle too narrow. This gave me more confidence and control over the 3one6 head. I changed out the handle to my EJ barley handle. Handle Length: about 3.5 but varies slightly depending on version. The DE89’s popularity seems to have dropped noticeably over the past few years. I really want to like this razor so will give it some more time.ĭay 3: I am struggling with how to relate my 3one6 razor experience without sounding overly negative, but it just isn't going well for me. The Edwin Jagger’s DE89 series of razors have a number of different handle styles but share the same head design. I really don't want to sound discouraging because this razor may just be the best thing since sliced bread for many I am just trying to report my initial user experiences. The DE89 and I hit it off right away and I was hoping for the same here. I won't give up on the 3one6 after only two shaves, but it better connect pretty quickly. A fine razor, but maybe just not suitable for me. I am not knocking Edwin Jagger products, you'd have a fight on your hands if you tried to take my barley handle DE89, but this 3one6 may just be too aggressive for me. I hope and pray that tomorrow will be a better experience. ![]() After the first pass I switched to a Gillette Yellow and finished the shave, but my confidence had already been shaken for this morning's shave. ![]() Normally I get very good, trouble free shaves with my DE89 so I am somewhat concerned with this 3one6. This was using a Feather blade on its second shave. Day 2: Today I got two weepers and one bleeding nick on my first pass.
